CGP is excited to have partnered with the Houston Police Department (Positive Experiences Program) on a special community-oriented policing initiative that will bring both of our programs together for a series of two-day mini-camps for middle school boys during out-of-school time.

Each camp will be for 26 youth from one of the city’s ten Complete Communities areas. Youth will spend one day at HPD Police Academy engaged in the Positive Encounters program and a second day at a local college or university engaged in the Chauncy Glover Project curriculum. We are targeting middle school boys because boys in this age group are being recruited to engage in gangs and other illegal activities.
